Expropriation of the German owners.

1951
Rana Gruber becomes a state-owned company.

1961
Rana Gruber becomes a division of the state owned Norsk Jernverk.

1962-64
Construction of a new dressing plant.

1981
Modernization of existing dressing plant. Innovation: Jones separators to concentrate hematite.

1982
Establishment of Rana Gruber Research & Development department

1983
New, main crusher at Ørtfjell comes in Production. Opening of a new open pit mine at Ørtfjell.

1989
Restructuring of Norsk Jernverk. Rana Gruber established as an independent daughter of Norsk Jern Holding.

1990
Privatisation of Norsk Jern Holding. Rana Gruber remains as a state owned company. Establishment of the product line

1991
Rana Gruber AS becomes a private company. Management and employee buy-out.

1997
Preparation for new underground operation at Kvannevann.

1999
Restructuring of Rana Gruber AS. Establishment of RG Mineral AS with Colorana.

2000
Start-up of new underground mine at Kvannevann.

2007
Decision to open a new level in the Kvannevann mine.

2008
Rana Gruber becomes a LNS-company. Start-up of preparations for new mining method.

2010
Mining plan until 2025 is in place.

New mining method "sub level caving" in operation.
